The purpose of the book is to guide the reader to the city of Sicily, informing them of the places to go, things to eat, activities to do, and more.
The book was done by a publication team. My job was to design the cover and the layout guide for the whole book.
For someone to read the book, we needed a good cover that portrays the whole book and Sicily with interest. I presented Sicily inside the white frame. Its beautiful emerald ocean and colorful environment show how the area is full of exciting things to explore. The elegant serif typeface used shows the majestic of Sicily and introduces what kind of style the book is.
As I was designing the layout, the first thing I had in mind was what would the reader want. It would be information about Sicily. Not just textual information, but also visual information. I placed enough of both text and visuals for the purpose. The whole book of 110 pages was completed with my layout guide.
